History & Evolution

From YSRIM to MAPBBE

MAPBBE (Monsoon Asia Forum on Built Environment and Energy) builds upon the academic heritage and international collaboration network of YSRIM (Yellow Sea Rim International Exchange Meeting on Building Environment and Energy).

YSRIM was established as an international academic exchange platform connecting researchers and professionals from Japan, China, and South Korea in the fields of building environment, energy efficiency, and sustainable technologies.

Over the years, YSRIM has promoted international research collaboration, academic exchanges, and opportunities for young researchers through conferences, technical discussions, and research presentations.

A New Chapter: MAPBBE 2027

Building on this foundation, MAPBBE expands its academic scope and international network from the Yellow Sea Rim to the broader Monsoon Asia region.

The forum addresses emerging challenges in sustainable buildings, urban energy, indoor environmental quality, human health, artificial intelligence, and climate adaptation.

MAPBBE aims to strengthen international collaboration, support young researchers, and promote innovative solutions for sustainable and healthy built environments.

MAPBBE 2027 marks a new chapter in this continuing tradition of international academic exchange.

Our Vision

To establish an international academic platform connecting researchers, professionals, and young scholars across Monsoon Asia, fostering interdisciplinary research, technological innovation, and sustainable development.
